I just finally got an xbox 360 and want to turn my xp pro pc into a media center pc. I run my 360 on my HDTV upstairs in my living room and have my pc down in the basement. I want to be able to record TV programs onto my PC and stream them back up to my TV through the 360 later on. I just ordered a WinTV-PVR-150 MCE by hauppauge and windows media center edition 2005. What will be the best way to set this all up? I have a second hard drive in my PC now. Can I just install WMC onto the second drive and leave XP on the first? How could I keep both OS and dual boot so I don't have to format and do a clean install? I know nothing about dual booting. I was hoping to avoid backing everything up and reinstalling. I need to know if I'm best off just reformatting and doing a clean install with WMC and only running one OS.
Also what all video formats will stream through the 360? I believe that WinTV-PVR-150 MCE will capture in Mpeg-2.
