Im using the newest version (2.4) and the videos are located on the hdd i fixed the config.xml file so it would locate the video files on my f: partition. The video text shows up when i select the HDD when im in XBMP but when i go to play a video it doesnt do anything, no player is brought up or anything. Thanks for any help

I've tried .mpg and .avi both dont work. See the thing is i didnt get the 2.4 source code off the xbox media player site, i downloaded a .zip with XBMP 2.4 stuff in it i dont know if that makes a difference. I had gotten the source code but there isnt a .xbe file in there. I have no idea what to do with the files. Thanks for any help

    hmm..
so you have mapped the f drive, tried avi and mpgs, but nothing...
can you play mp3s with xbmp?
it might be that the files are not encoded correctly (i reencode my mpgs to be vcd compliant, but it seems xbmp can play a wide variety of bitrates..)

i had a similar problem with an older version of xbmp, i realized it was the file i download, it was missing files..

so you might wanna get a new download of xbmp 2.4 (get a zipped one, pre-compiled.. if you have the source code, you woudl need to compile the program using some program which i can't remmeber..hehe... )

    hope that helps

Sounds like xbmp is working just fine. I'm wondering if the names of the video files actually show up, or do you just see a "My Videos" category. If the names actually show up, I'd suggest trying different files, because it may be that the files you're attempting to use could be corrupted.
