Gave one to a friend to use and it worked fine for him. Also tried a couple different iso files, none worked. Also tried using DVD clone and that did not work. I've used different types of media before and never had a problem like this so any help would be appreciated. thanks
Not all media is compatible w/ all drives - depends on the firmware. Brands like Imation use different manufacturers too so you may not always get the same manufacturer that worked on the drive before. Update the firmware on the drive - the latest is KD10.
what speed are you burning at? try 4x if the firmware update doesn't help get more compatible media like Verbatims, or Taiyo Yuden
You stated that the discs you were using were "DVD+R" discs, but the report stated that the disc was a rewritable DVD+RW. If the disc is an 8X medium, then it will not work on older drives that are limited to 4X. 8X DVD+RW will not work at 1X, so retailers should (but may not) keep both 1X-4X and 4X-8X DVD+RW/-RW on the shelves so that people who want to use the fastest discs are able to do that and those who use time-shifting discs in their video recorders at 1X also have media to use. If the media you have are 8X, then the problem is speed incompatibility. If they are 4X, then binkie7's and 300bowler's conclusions and suggestions are correct.
d17lax, your MUCH better off sticking with better media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim the inexpensive brands are mostly a roll of the dice which end up being a headache. Do It Right The First Time Using Better Media Next Time!!
