Media player classic wont play the sound for an mpeg file using ogg vorbis for the sound and xvid for the video. The video is fine but when I run it it tells me that I havent got the right codec installed even though I've used two different installers and tried copying the .acm file into my windows system file. I have vlc player as well but the sound quality isnt great. I'm using windows ME, if that makes a difference. Cheers Steve
vorbis and XviD in an mpeg container? Sounds odd. Anyway that doesn't really matter. Media Player Classic doesn't include a vorbis decoder so you need to install something like corevorbis or ffdshow. I guess an ACM decoder should work via a wrapper, but that is not optimal. Sound quality in VLC should be fine. http://www.aziendeassociate.it/cd//Misc/CoreVorbis1.1.0.79.exe
Cheers mate I've managed to get it working in media player classic using corevorbis. I got reasonable sound quality in vlc player but I've found that there is quite a lot of background noise which is only really noticable when it is at high volume, I just wanted to get perfect sound quality which I now have.
