memory card problem! i seriously need help

i bought a sandisk mini SD for my phone so that i can upload photos and music onto the memory card. the problem i have is that whenever i try to put a file into the memory stick, it says that the disk is write protected. can someone please tell me how to remove it? thanks

 

Did it come with an SD adapter? If it it did there is a little swith on the side that says lock. Slide it away from the lock position.
