When you go into TMPGENC MPEG Tools ... in the Merge MPEG files tab ... it only allows merging files into VBR format. Is there any way to retain the CBR characteristics of my original MPEG2 file ?

It ends up being a VBR file which seems to be problematic when I create a DVD with several chapters ... when I try to jump to a end chapter the DVD player just locks up. Not sure if its because its a VBR file.

It wouldn't be because its a vbr file i'd say! I use vbr svcd all the time and chapters work perfect for me!

    Thanks.

But what do you use to burn the SVCD discs ?

I use DVD MovieFactory to burn them to discs. Everyone of the discs I have burned appear fine when you start ... but moving to the end of the MPEG file causes it problems.
