I ripped a DVD onto my computer and it comes up as 700mbs, and i want to burn it to a Dvd but the thing is when i put it in Nero, it comes up as 4.6Gb, i want to make it the highest quality possible but its hard, I delete credits, menus, Etc but it still comes up as 4.6gb even if Windows Explorer shows 700mbs. EDIT: Its converted to AVI
Use DVD Shrink to encode file down to fit on single layer DVD. burn with Imgburn. All freeware. Use options in Shrink to improve quality and you can reauthor to limit compression.
to keep as avi burn as DATA project but if you want it as dvd then yes that size is correct... it has to be converted back to dvd from avi. now, if your intention was dvd rip to dvd then making an avi is a waste of time (quailty loss happens) also if doing a data project 700meg will fit a cdr.
UPDATE 5/18/08: Ok i managed to use AVI2DVD and i burned ok, but playback is the problem, First off the quality, i set it to Best, ended up being worse than the AVI that I burned onto a Dvd using Nero, Then the sound comes about 2 seconds before the character moves his lips. Summary: Quality less than original AVI Sound comes before character talks Ideas? on what to burn with?
forget avi rip the dvd as a dvd then burn dvd no avi needed. ---------- what did you rip the dvd with to get an avi?
