When I purchased my Sony Minihandycam minDV camcorder the shop through in a pack or 6 JVC miniDV cassettes as they were out of the official Sony accessory pack. So far I have recorded on 3 of them. The first 2 seemed OK, although there was on each 2 or 3 very brief disruptions in the picture. The third tape which I used wehn on my family holiday a couple of weeks ago was terrible, the first 20 minutes has almost constant minor distortions in the picture accompanied by a crakle in the audio. I actually worried that the camcorder was developing a fault. However I have since recorded once again on one of the other two tapes I had used with no problems. Is JVC a dodgey make of min DV tape? What make would you recommend?
I've not used JVC tapes in my Sony but I can tell you that I've never experienced any problems with Sony tapes.
