I burned Lion King 1 1/2 last night using DVD Shrink to compress. Somehow I lost the Audio on the burn. Not sure what happened. Does anyone have and ideas?

How did you make the backup ? Full disc or re-author ? If you re-authored it, the menus of the original DVD are missing and the movie starts playing as soon as you insert the disc in the player. The player picks up a language if several are available. If it chooses a DTS audio but your sound machine does not support DTS, then you don't hear anything. Just use your player's remote to switch to another audio track.

To know whether there is audio or not on your backup, put it into your PC drive and open it in Shrink. That way you will see the audio tracks available on the backup.

I went back and used DVD Shrink to look at it. It is showing that it has audio files but will not play sound.

Again, how did you make the backup ? Full disc or re-author ?

According to Shrink, how many audio tracks are on the backup ? Of what type (AC3 or DTS) ? In what order ?

    I use re-author
    the files are AC3 ones.
What does it mean if DVD Shrink says it has overlapping I/O files?

Sorry, I have no clue. If the disc contains only AC3 audio tracks, you should hear something whatever track your player picks up.

Did you try to switch languages with your player's remote, just to see if the problem concerns every audio track ?

Hope somebody else will be able to help.
