I'am trying to convert an home made avi to DVD.
First I capture the file from my DV camera ( JVC GR-D20E) = 50.56 min--> 11GB with fire-wire. Used capture program is WinDv and DVIO.
If I analyze the captured AVI file with VirtualDub then I get next info:
Video lenght = 50.56 min and audio length is only 31.23 min ?
That is quite strange ? Video and audio have not the same length.
I tried 2 different capture programs ( WinDV and DVIO ) but the result remains same.
If I play the file on mijn DV camera then is the audio OK.
After the capturing the file is the remain space on mijn HD 13 GB ( it's a 40 GB HD ).
If i try to play the captured file with Virtual dub or real player then I miss the audio stream after 31.23 min. First 31.23 min
Converted DVD file has the same problem. Used convert program is Avi2dvd or TMPGenc and during the convert i have no errors.

Well the Problem seems to be in the Capture process...Either your camcorder stops Transmiting audio after 31 min or the Capture program stops reading audio after 31 minutes.....

As for how to Solve this Problem I wouldn"t have a clue but I have a Very Simular DV Camcorder (JVC GR-275D) and haven"t had this Problem yet...

    Sory I can"t help...
