Hi im running a gemini image on my d500s, now i have done a complete factory reset and then transponder scans on astra and hotbird, the strang thing is i cannot find cbeebies of any of the sky movies within my channel lists, any help where im going wrong would be lovely!
well first thing is you wont be able to view them without a cline for your box but why you have missing channels that a different story
as e45 said to view the movies (or any pay channel )you will need a c line or a sky card) if your box has an up to date satellite.xml file a simple scan will get you all available channels . if your not getting channels that you should have (such as cbeebies )you need to either do a manual channel scan ,press menu ,choose setup, choose service searching ,choose manual transponder scan ,in the frequency box type in this frequency for cbeebies 10.802 horizontal and set fec to auto ,now press the green button to scan that frequency and do likewise for any other missing channels .or you need to get an up to date satellite.xml file and pop it in to the var/etc file in your dreambox using dream control center (it can be done easily enough )i can help you with it if you like .
Hi Piopat, Your help would be massively apprecialted, i have just walked back into the sat scene after being away from it nearly 10 years and im very rusty to say the least! im an original d2mac man, if you remember converted philips bshyb boxes?? and then a pic chip card writer! I have also just purchased a 80cm with motor, used from fleabay and cost a massive 11.49! all i have to do is put her up.... Regards, Alan
ok alsn here are instructions to put an up to date satellite.xml file in to your dreambox. want to create your own satellite.xml file all you have to do is click on this link http://satellites-xml.eu/ put a tick in the box of the satellites you want ,choose all channels or only hd channels or only sd channels . then enter the security code and download the file to your computer (i would create a folder called dreambox and store it and other dreambox stuff in there so its easy to find ),use dream control center to put the file in to your dreambox .open dream control center and click on ftp ,double click on var ,then double click on etc ,then look in the box on the right of the screen it contains files in your computer ,click on the satellite.xml file you downloaded to highlight it and then look between the two boxes and you will see two little arrows one pointing left the other pointing right (click on the arrow pointing left ) the satellite.xml file is now in the left hand box which means its in your dreambox exit out of dream control center and reboot your box . thats it if you would prefer if it makes things easier for you you can add the missing frequencies manually via your remote control (here are the instructions ) your image can be missing frequencies/channels if its not a newly released image ,especially when viewing channels on the sky satellite as this is relatively new. you can add frequencies with your remote control. press menu on your remote ,press number 6 (setup) ,choose service searching ,choose trannsponder edit, now you will see astra/eurobird 28.2 east highlighted in red and below you will also see sat highlighted in red ,and on the right you will see a list of all the frequencies in your box . now press the right arrow button on your remote control and you will see add highlighted in red . now click on this link http://flysat.com/28east.php here you will see a list of all frequencies and channels on the sky satellite ,now back on the tv screen look at the frequencies that you have ,start with the first frequency and scroll down through them one at a time and compare them to the frequencies on your computer screen . when you see a frequency you dont have press ok on your remote ,now simply put in the frequency ,choose horizontal or vertical ,set fec (usualy 2/3 or 5/6 ),and set symbol rate (usually 22000 or 27500) then press the green button to save ,carry on adding frequencies untill you have them all and then exit and save .then return to service searching and choose automatic transponder scan ,press ok ,you will see a valid transponder has been found, now press the green button to scan for channels ,you should now have all the available frequencies/channels from sky. in the frequency list in the link above you will see frequencies that have a strange fec and symbol rate (most likely they are non sky channels or feeds) there is no need to add them unless you want to. hope that helps alan .

Alan ok,, now ive just tried the manual freq entry, and still doesnt find cbeebies! has someone eaten cbeebies??
ok mate ill send you a pm (the channels you want are there i promise )but you may have to change your image ,gemini is dodgy any way .
as piopat says gemini is not the best image for dm500. there is no image to compare with pli when it comes to this box. also pli is probably the best supported image on the market today
Hi Piopat. mmm, still problems! i have tried to connect to the dreambox via dream up null, and lan and will not find my dreambox. doesnt give me a com2, and have tried all the other comms within the programme. Thanks Alan
Hi Alan, when you did your scan, did you tick network and then scan. I too was trying to get cbeebies, didn't come back till I ticked network.
