The only thing that you can do is a Factory Reset and a Fresh Installation to get all your channels back, I presume you do have the AU firmware on your box. But if you are only interested in getting Sly Sports 1 back then check the frequency on Sly Sports 3 it should be broadcast on the same as 1, so if you are getting Sports 3 - just go to Sly Sports 3 and Press Menu and then OK on Installation, now go down to Manual Scan and Press OK, the Frequency will appear in the Down Frequency - Now just press OK and it will scan on that one Frequency and when finished it will show you what/how many channels found. If done correctly you will find your missing channel at the end of your TV listing, just re-order in Channel Edit.
thanks for ur reply Malci. but My sky sports 3 is not woking. So plz can u explain to me how do i do AU fimware and is tht a software and where do i get it from. look forward to reading ur reply many Thanks kam
If you have updated your box since Dec 08 then you will already have it, if not then you need to update. I am presuming that you have a Starview 1 (Just say's Starview at the top left front of box) it is important that you do recognise your box first, and also say whether this is your first time of flashing a box?
yh it say starview on the left handside and digtal receiver on the right side. yh this is my 1st time flashing the box . Many thanks for ur trouble. I love forward to reading ur reply. Kam
Right then that is Starview 1 okay, so you will need to Download the CryptStar-v1.5.zip and it contains two BIN files, Core400.bin for the Genuine and Core257.bin for the clone the one that you need (also it is safe to use on the genuine as well if you have any doubt). You will also need the GTRom 4.0 Loader and if neccessary Winrar to unzip the files, all these can be found in Eamo's FTA Library (Just go into the Starview Folder) link at the bottom of my post, you will need a NULL MODEM lead and preferably an old laptop or standalone PC with the correct 9 pin serial port with OP system XP for ease of use (Save you a lot of headache this being your first time of flashing). So to familiarise yourself with what is required click on the link marked Eurovox and you will see what is required - different box but same connectivity - then click on the link marked Starview for a step by step tutorial courtesy of HiTeck and Celtic respectively, when you are ready or you require assistance then by all means get back.
cheers malci u been a great help to me i just had a qucik read do i need to download GTromloader and which one .4shared.com/account < on tht site there is tow diff types GTrom.v4.00 rar or Gtrom v400.exe or does it not matter which one i download . thanks kam
GTRom Loader v4.0 They are both the same, rar is zipped the .exe is ready to go, so get that one it makes no difference what-so-ever.
Cheers Mate ! u been a great ! jst got bck frm work im give it a go tomrrw now i let u know how i got on ! TA again (Y)
Hiya there mate, how are you? Sorry to be a pain, but I'm completely lost now. I've downloaded what you advised, but now when I connect my box to my laptop (which is via a USB to serial converter), I load GTRom and load the .bin file into it but when I click download, after about 30 seconds I get an erroe message saying Failed, with the options to Retry or Cancel. I've definitely chose the right port as I had to manually change the port for the USB to serial converter to Port 1 and selected that in GTRom. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Kam.
I am on my way now mate, it is definately the assignation of the USB adaptor to the correct port that is causing you the problem, them adaptors and window vista can be a real pain - is there any chance that you could get the loan of an old laptop or standalone PC with the correct 9 pin serial and running OP system XP as you will find this way a doddle, but in the meantime have you put in the correct drivers, did you get a disc with the USB adaptor, so check this out in the meantime courtesy of Celtic >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions: 1. Go to the Start Menu 2. Right click on "My Computer" 3. Select "Properties" 4. Click on the "Hardware" tab 5. Click on "Device Manager" 6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)" 7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.) 8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port. 9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected If you need drivers go here http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm Follow my advice to step 7. Locate your USB Adapter (port *) Right click on that port and select properties. Then select port settings, then select advanced. At the bottom of that tab will be a drop down box with the port selected (port * in your case). Use the drop down to select another port (eg 1, 2 or 3). If the port you want to use is already allocated to something else, you can use the same procedure to reassign that port after you have finished. Save the selections in the usual way. The USB converter will be permanently assigned to the port you selected.
hi sorry for the late reply. The info u send I tried doing tht but didnt work so I read wht u said abt the ports over and over didnt make sence to me, so i showed it to my mate see if he understood same age. I guess were not computer brainly as u. LOL im trying to get hold of my other mate who knows alot more abut computers then i do. See if he can solve this for me. Many thnnks for al ur help! If i get stuck im post u a message on here and hope u guide me trough. Cheers !! Kam
Make sure that you do have a NULL MODEM lead and not a straight through serial lead, thay both look exactly the same okay sure just make sure, this is the one you need >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=97740 Now your PC is definately not recognising the box, so it is either "not assigned to the correct COMM port" or you have the "incorrrect lead", so check out this guide courtesy of dooby as to assigning the COMM port >>>> http://www.freewebs.com/starview-update/ You will also find a tutorial at the link marked Starview at bottom of post courtesy of Celtic.
hey mate i have follwed every step by step but whn i download it keeps saying Flash fail. Do u think it is buz i got the 9 pin cable attched to the a USB to serial converter? does the 9 pin calbe need to be drict from box to computer. I have a vista and the 9 pin dont go in the bck of my computer.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor << this the one i got
Yes and Yes to both your questions, there are a lot of people have issues with Windows Vista, and also the USB Adaptor - I have explained up above that I recommend that you get the loan of of an old laptop or Standalone PC that has got the relevant 9 Pin serial port, running Operation System Window XP. So as to allow you to connect direct to box via PC/Laptop and thus avoid a lot of headache, the link you have posted is an adaptor, now are you sure that you have a Genuine NULL MODEM lead going into that and NOT a straight through serial lead?? - but as said I recommend you use the other method above, particularly if this is your first time of flashing.
this might not be any good i found a link that you can download a driver for vista and since i done this my vista works fine ill try and find the link again
Yep there are drivers available, link up above 12th post down, but I don't think it as solved his problem. As said some people do have a lot of problems with USB Adaptors and Vista, other's get along fine.
well i im not sure its a Genuine NULL MODEM lead the one i got is a 9 pin lead it came with the box. The guy who sold it to me said u need it tht woth the box to upgrade it. erm jst thinking of a way so i can tke a pic and post it so u can see for ur self.
