Folks, I'm a graphic designer and I use both a Mac running OS X and a PC (running Win2k). I move files--sometimes large files--back and forth between the two platforms every day. Until recently I had fantastic luck burning data CDs for the PC with Roxio Toast on my Mac and data CDs for the Mac with Nero Burning on my PC. Never a problem in two years. I recently upgraded from Nero 5 to Nero 6 and now I got problems. Even when Nero verifies a CD, that same CD may or may not be recognizable on a Mac. Sometimes the whole CD appears blank, sometimes it won't be readable at all, and sometimes a file or a few files are invisable or missing all together. The CD always works fine if I re-insert it in the PC. I've tried burning using both mode settings and all three ISO settings. To get around my problem, I've started carrying a little USB flash drive or I borrow a portable hard-drive from work. Just the same, I'd really like to figure out a solution to this problem. Any thoughts? Thanks much! wilims
i think it's time for my proverbial request - post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar

- is your burner one of these iomagic drives - http://www.iomagic.com/Firmware/FirmwareDownload.html - if so, which one ? as i see a choice of 2 it could be there, basically a rebadged Optorite DD0401 or DD0405 - a-ha, DMA needs to be on for the 8XMax burner, fix it via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm - that 2nd line's not good. my 'crap media detector' has just kicked in... Here's an example of what it should look like -a-ha, my crap media detector was indeed correct. This is THE most foul, most abhorrent dvd media on the market. the only good and consistent burning to be had from CMC Mags is in a wood burner, at 500C - try 4x, you're torturing that appalling CMC Mag media with 8x (ok it deserves torture, but hey!). - you've got Roxio on the PC, it and Nero don't always play well. If you don't use it on the PC, uninstall Roxio, otherwise keep it on mind..
