So I burn a svcd with VCDEasy and say the MPEG file is 45 minutes long, when I finish it and put it in my dvd player there is only 39 minutes there of the clip. Any idea why? I'm using 700MB 80 Minute 1-4X speed Memorex CD-RW's. This has happened for 2 movies so far, any help? Using VCDEasy 2.0.3 (Commercial Version).
Maybe it's just a fault of your DVD player, which doesn't indicate the correct movie length in this case. Are some pieces missing, in the movie, that you can recognize? If you cannot understand it, open D:\MPEG2\AVSEQ01.MPG with a player capable to show the length of the 'riff file' (not all players are capable to show the length of a MPEG-2), or open VCDGear and choose, in [vcdgear] screen, mpeg --> mpeg to transport mpeg (riff file which lies on your SVCD) --> mpeg-2 (on your computer) and load that MPEG wich an encoder capable to load a MPEG-2 file (like TMPGnc plus or MPEG-VCR) and to show its full length. There are no reasons for a SVCD being < than the input movie....
hmm okay. this is odd. when i watch it on my dvd it ends at 39 minutes, and at the that point on windows media player(watching the mpeg2) that part is at the end of this file(showing at 51 minutes). any idea why it would do this? is my svcd missing parts; should i watch it all the way throug to see? or is wmp just not showing the correct times?
You should make the checks I described, but I think this is your players fault, and the movie is a whole.
ok I did what you said with vcdgear and took the mpeg off the cd ontop my computer and it is full length. i guess this is just a problem with my dvd player. is there a way to fix this?
i went to a friends place today and put it in his dvd and it displayed the correct times for length etc. seems my svcd's are working perfect, just my home dvd is acting upa bit. it plays them, but just lists incorrect time etc.
