Missing subtitles

Hiya have a foreign film in avi, it has subtitles, but when I used nero to convert it into a dvd there were no subtitles, any way of carrying the subs over from the avi and having them included with the transcoded dvd?

Cheers, shall give that a try, why shouldn't I use nero as a movie encoder?

 

I never used it, but majority states it sucks...

 

Apart from one movie haven't had a problem with it, the one I had probs with was dvd santa, the audio and video streams were never in sync
