I have 26 mkv files I need to put on a DVD. I can't for the life of me figure this out. No other postings have been helpful as of yet either. Can someone put up a step by step solution to putting mkv files on DVD? I really need the help.
I have the extracter the merger and tried everything else, nothhing works. Currently only mkv files are giving me a problem. Maybe for the mkv files I should just go to radio shack, pony up $100 and get the adapter to run my monitor to my standalone DVD burner and just burn my mkv files that way, maybe it is better than the mkv hassle.
hold your horses. so you want to convert these files into dvd format ? as like in mpeg2 and ac3 ? if so, do read the link i posted. what celtic_d is saying here is data backup as your question does exactly what he's saying. what you need to do is extract the video and audio to avi or seperate them, if avi won't hold the audio. then use your trusted dvd authoring.... mine is QuEnc 0.59 beta2. now with DVD muxing.
Also quite possible that avi can't hold the video. MKV supports various video formats that avi can't, plus it supports VFR (Variale FrameRate).
real and matroska anyone ? speaking of vfr http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=3ee6c0a7059670178a3a173779ee9707&threadid=90938
