I'm trying to get an x264 .mkv file converted to and xvid .avi file using WinAVI. I get an error saying Can't decode this file! Maybe the file is broken or the relative decoder is not installed! I have the xvid codec installed obviously but is there something else i need to install to get this to work? If not, anyone know of a good program to convert mkv to avi?
Try the free mediacoder, I've used it in the past to convert mkvs. See if that will work for you. http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
