    Hi,
My parents live in an MMDS analogue area.
Is there anything available to get the Mov*es and sp*rts etc.
I thought the TX box would do it but it only works on digital?
One of my mates in the same area has this metal barrel type thing that connects to the coax and then to the TV it decrypts the channels. Does anybody know anything about these things or have any suggestions for MMDS analogue.
    Thanks.
    B.

    Hi,
Not sure what you're using but a DBox2 will work for you. You'll need to FTP the latest cables.xml file to the Box. When you go to do a service scan you'll then see MMDS as an option. Select it and do your scan - that should do the trick.
If that all sounds like double-dutch to you, let me know and I'll explain the steps you need to follow in a little more detail.
    Cheers,
    Chuck

A dbox2 is not working with ch*rus mmds and analogue mmds means ch*rus.
If the aerial is fed with electrical power with the right voltage (around 12v to 24v) the aerial deliver both analogue and digital signal in the other direction.

    Thanks for the replies.
So what option do I have, is there any box out there that will work considering it is analogue MMDS?
Have been trying to get a definitive answer to this for nearly a year.

    The subscription doesn't matter.
A working aerial deliver both signals analogue and digital.

Sorry for my ignorance MGB so does this mean that I CAN purchase a TX box and get it working with the analogue setup?
I wss told I can and then was told I cannot.
I would be really grateful if you could clarify this for me once and for all.
    Thanks.

ps NT* Have confirmed that it is ONLY analgoue MMDS in Ashbourne for those interested.

N'l shut down analogue mmds some years ago.
There is only analogue mmds available via exCh*rus.
You should know if there is a working mmds aerial. Some blokes have a forgotten mmds aerial on the roof and are in reality connected to a cable feed.

So whats the story if its just a cable feed, is there a solution to get the channels?

My parents are talking about ringing NT* to get their service.
If it is a thing that an aerial/mast is installed and has a cable running off it can I get the TX box for that?

    Thanks for your patience.

If your parents are connected to a cable feed the question is if there is digital available or not.
Analogue mmds is simply not available in a exN'l area.

    ok sorry.
Maybe I am asking the wrong question as I seem to be going around in circles so apologies if my questions are being phrased wrong.
I know for a fact that ONLY analogue is available in ashbourne.
I know that some streets have the aerial with the cable coming from it and some only have a cable feed (not sure where its coming from?)
So bottom line, is there anything available for either of these options be it the MMDS analogue (chorus) coming from the aerial or the Analogue coming from a cable feed.
    BOTH are analogue.
Thanks again for the replies , I'm sure your'e losing patience at this stage, you can see why it has taken me a year to get an answer to this.

You should be sure where the signal is coming from and if you are not sure follow the cable from the livingroom till to the input.

As far as I can see it is coming from the Aerial.
My mother asked a neighbour and they said it's exChoru* MMDS and its analogue. Will the TX work on this?
    Thanks.

I asked an mate. Asbourne is either n*l mmds which means digital only or exCh*rus cable. The cable network is analogue only.
Either there is no mmds aerial or the wall socket in the livingroom is not connected to that aerial if analogue is available.

I guess there is a UHF aerial connected for analogue.
A cable feed should be highly visible.

So, MGB, given that ashbourne is analogue only in what ever format, is there a box that will work?
    Thanks

Its a question what is installed on the roof at the house of your parents and what is connected.
A simple aerial for terrestrial doesn't give anything from UPC/N*l/Ch*rus.
If there is a connection to the analogue only cable network there are simply no digital channels which could be descrambled.

Thanks MGB so the answer is no, there is nothing available for MMDS analogue (Choru*) at the moment. As I said in previous replies, it is definitely analogue ONLY.
My mate uses this metal barrel thing that an NT* guy gave him, this decrypts some of the channels he receives which are scrambled.
If I could find out something about these I would be happy enough.
Thanks again for all the advice.

The exCh*rus cable network in Asbourne is analogue only. There is no ch*rus mmds.
Scrambled analogue channels at a cable network is a other story.

So what are all those MMDS aerials in ashbourne?
Most of them are still active?
    Are they NT*?
If so is there a box solution for these.

The easiest way for me to ask you this is, you seem to know about ashbourne so is there a box solution for any of the setup that is in the area.
    Thanks.
