Is the ch***s mmds system capable of using nagra 3 encryption and is it just a matter of waiting for the cable viewers channels to go first and mmds will follow?

The Chorus mmds(dvb-t) is soon to be replaced by NTL mmds(dvb-c)
Its already happened in some areas.

in cork, new mmds are still being given dvb-t box's.
And there is no pvr option available to them (new customers)

The mmds licence is due to expire in 2014, i can't see them investing too much money into it.

Personally i think securing their cable system is top of their priorities.. Mmds is well down the list for investment / updating

What happens to the people with MMDS with the licence expires?

    Will UPC just drop them.

Only in my own opinion but mmds will never be gone because of the possibility that upisee won't be bothered running cables there, where-ever it is. And there is no positive test on mmds with n3. ;)
