After installing MPT v3.0, it told me to then insert the cable and phone to my computer. I have done so which then it recognized the phone and I was good to go. Sunddenly after it recognized the phone and was 100% complete this showed up.

MPT is a pain in the a$$, your better off not using it. If your phone has a TransFlash memory card just connect that to your PC and transfer things onto your phone using that. (If not then buying an aftermarket DataCable may be something you'd want to consider).

Some one told me to delete all my phone drives, uninstall all my MPT and updates and reinstall MPT. Where can I find all my phone drivers?

I had lots of problems to make my cel connect to the comp, and finally, after hours of tests, i made it work.
    It was as simple as:

-Download the latest version of Mobile Phone tools, from emule for example. I found 3.00 but 2.xx versions will work as well (i tested it in other comp).
-Install the software but still dont connect cell to comp. After the software is installed, you click on the program icon and it will ask for you to connect cel.
    - You connect it but dont try to upload files or pictures. Look for the live update option in the program and update it. It will probably take some time -depending on your internet speed- and several computer reboots. Update it until it says it is fully updated. Enter the program and look inside options, there should be an option to change modem. Press it, select GSM modem and then select motorola v220 (in case you have other model, look for it in the list, and if it isnt inside GSM list, try the others). Save it all and turn program off.
-Then disconnect your cel (which has been connected all the time while the program was updating and comp rebooting).
-turn program on again. It will ask for the cel. You connect it and program will recognize it.

It worked fine for me!!! and i had been 14 hours trying to make it work. Good luck

I just solved this problem. Go to live update and there is a 25mb file that will download and install. When this completes restart the application and it will find your phone. At least this is what was wrong for me.

Dowloaded MPT 3.0 last PM and ran into the same problem, laptop wouldn't recognize the phone - HP Pavilion laptop, Windows XP with a Motorola v180. I solved it by Control Panel - System - Device Manager. Found the phone listed there (some indication of a failure, forgot which), right clicked it and hit Update Driver. Windows took care of the rest. Everything was fine afterwards. Maybe XP wants its own driver???

Uninstall MPT and any driver you installed for your phone (go to device manager to do this). Re-install MPT, and this time manually install the drivers. The drivers are located in the INF folder in Mobile Phone Tools. Do this all while your phone is not connected to your computer. One you get all of this done, go into mobile phone tools and click "NEW" profile. What until that Phone Setup screen appears and then plug your phone in.

this is what I did, theres is another updated for motorola which is mpt3.25b after I download the software you have to unplug the phone like mine is a v551 where it says new profile you have to type your phone model number which is behind the battery then it's going to upload the drivers for your phone after that is going to ask you to detect your phone and its going to guive you several choices chose the want that you have then you are going to see a box where is trying to detect your phone now is the time to plug the phone, and is going to give you a phone picture just like your phone and the menu is going to be highlited right next to it. if after you already did this and still not working go to your phone menu, settings, initial setup, and go all the way down on your menu and you are going to find 2 resets master reset and master clear, PRESS MASTER RESET, !!!DO NOT PRESS MASTER CLEAR!!!!!!!then your phone is going to reboot if it doesnt then turn it off, and turn it on then try to detectyour phone again with the indications mention above at this time your phone profile should be there just clck on it and if not just follow the sames steps but dont do the master reset again

    good lock
