OK so when the mobo is NOT in the case, it works fine. However once I mount it in the case with minmium peripherals such as video card,keyboard,power/reset buttons, case speaker, and fans I suddenly get 5 error beeps. Tried reseating the CPU the first time it happened, and testing the mono outside the case. Posted fine. Put it back in case, 5 beep codes. Any help is much appreciated since this is my third mobo in a week and I am sick of Neweggs lies and rude customer service.
OK after more troubleshooting it seems the video card causing the short. My mobo is a p65a-45 which has 2 pci-e slots which helped narrow it down. In the bottom pci-e slot the system posts fine but blocks my SATA ports. What about trying to wrap some electrical tape around the metal bracket. Not very professional but I just want to get the rig up and running and stable.
Care to explain? I am at a complete loss here as to how it can be causing a short. Could it just be a bad pci-e port? The card works so it can't be a bad card.
I don't see a way to take it off. It may be possible if I take the whole shell off but not sure it is worth it. Any other ideas? Here are some pics if it helps. http://db.tt/6gMXnolR http://db.tt/gLLnzDdH http://db.tt/K41CV0eA If you need fifteenth angles or something let me know.

I am not sure about taking the back plate off. i found one screw for it and tried removing it to see what it would do but could not figure out how to get to the other screw. heres the pic you requested. need more? just ask. http://db.tt/lSPfhvHD
those nut screws(2 on either side of blue & white connectors) can come off & videocard bracket might come off then.
