    Hello...there,

I have JVC Everio, which i have been transfer VDO files into my PC so I can edit the VDO with Window Movie Makers.
But The problem is Window Movie Makers is doesn't support .MOD and .MOI file for JVC Everio and only support VDO files as followings:

.asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

Can anyone please advice me which converter software should i use to convert from .MOD or .MOI to above VDO files?

    Thank you,
    Cannababe

The files created by this camcorder are actually mpeg-2 files. Simply rename the exptension to mpg and you should be able to open them in a video editing program that can handle mpg files.

I've also got an Everio and I'm having the same problems. I'm able to change the file format to mpg, but when I play the file I have no audio with any program (editing or viewing) except Ulead. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've tried a couple of codecs but they're obviously not the right ones.

Maybe the sound is AC3? In that case install AC3filter.

I have a JVC Everio. All I do is show the file extension in folder options and rename it from .mod to .mpg. The software that the camcorder came with works fine with the newly renamed file, including sound.

Go to this location and download SDcopy, it batch converts the files in a folder and will set the Wide-screen Flag of MOD and MPG files.
