what are the advantages to having a mod chip. i just bought one off the net, then realized i could soft mod right after. so could someone tell me the differences/advantages before i install it. thx. P.S. i have just the AR disc, cuz my friend gave it to me, but what else do i need to complete the AR set? i do have a usb xbox controller converter but i don't know if i need that for the AR.

yeah, i say a modchip is the best way to go. Some thing like swpping for a larger HDD are really easy with a modchip and a lot more complicated with a softmod.
