Alright so my hard drive in my xbox died and instead of giving microsoft more money I decided to just install a mod chip and switch hard drives. After I installed the chip (smartxx v3)it will boot to smartxx screen but when I try and load the original bios it gives me the same 07 error it was giving before I installed the chip. So am I missing something to make this work?

Ok, your hard drive crashed, you installed a modchip, and you bought a new hard drive and put the new one in? Did I get this right?

[bold] THIS IS IF YOU WANT YOUR MICROSOFT STUFF BACK![/bold]

Let me expain your problem. Expained: The Microsoft BIOS is on the motherboard and the modchip bypasses the original Microsoft BIOS with a hacked BIOS. The Microsoft files are on the hard drive (e.g. dashboard, media, cache, etc.). When you boot the Microsoft BIOS, it runs the files off the hard drive to make everything work. Your Problem: Because your hard drive crashed, it no longer has the files on it so it can't boot your dashboard therefore you get an error. You need to find someone that will let you have their Microsoft files.

[bold]IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE MICROSOFT FILES[/bold]

If your BIOS on the modchip has LBA 48 support (X3 3294), just prepare and format your new hard drive through that. After it gets done formatting, find a dash on xbins and FTP it preferably to the C partition. Your Xbox and everything will work, but it just doesn't have and microsoft files on it anymore.

    Hope this helps,
    Teddy
