Hey I dont have a mod chip but I do have a softmodded xbox. But I have heard that solderless ones are NOT good because they disconnect from xbox inside. I would Probably go with the xecuter 3. Or just soft mod your xbox, does cost any money.

I am not good at soldering also, but after getting the no solder adapter for the xcuter 2.6 I resulted in soldering anyway. The no solder adapter for the xcuter 2.6 works like crap. Anyway, I soldered the 2.6 in a ver 1.0 xbox without any issues. I recommend to solder over any other options. Soldering is easy as long as you have the right gear to do it and a little patience. I used a cheap $8 iron and the finest grade solder i could get at radioshack. I practiced on an old mouse green board and all went well. Don't use to much solder. Now i'm moving up to the dms4 for my PS2.
