hey i have a matrix mod chip installed on my xbox it is in mode 2 and the green light is constant but it will not start up unless i press the ejection button if i dont and press the power button it will try and boot but shut down, then try again but shut down and the light stays red. So it will not let me boot evox. If I take the modchip out the xbox works fine. Any suggestions? thanks
I think one of the connections is probably not making proper contact on the LPC holes. I had the same thing with a solder mod. I resoldered all the points and it worked properly. If you press the power button and it flashes red and green, just unplug it from the back and leave it a few seconds then plug it back in and you should then be able to turn it back on with eject without taking the mod out.
yea, see im tryin to hook it up on an xbox v1.1 and the LPC holes are not filled, i know it is alot easier to get them filled but im pretty sure im not going to be able to get it done. Is there any easier way to align it other than fiddling with it to get it in the right position? Becuase it will stay green if i just line it up, but when it trys to boot up it cant, the light flashes green/red. Once or twice I was able to get it to boot when it was green but i couldnt screw it in, I had to hold it. Thanks for help
Well this is unfortunately a common problem. They sell these solderless mods to people but don't fully inform them of things like this. It's stupid really because basically to fit a proper solder LPC mod to the XBOX all you have to do is line it up over the holes and fill them with solder anyway. Other than just tiwddling it a bit and trying it and twiddling it and trying it theres not much else you can do but that could take forever. I sometimes get a red/green flash even after putting a solder mod in because 1 point is just not quite connecting. It's much better though to just get them filled. It's easy for anyone with a small amount of solder skills and takes about 2 minutes.
