You can only play xbox live with a chip that can be deactivated for that reason only otherwise microsoft will ban you if they detect modded xbox or pirated games. The only other option is neXBC or Xlink Kai which work the same way but only games with the systemlink option. Do a google search and install it for free. I use it and its great.
