    May i just say thanks to all that replied to my question i am downloading aid and have swapped the hard drive for my new larger drive.
    As the aid programme is still downloading i plugged the xbox back in and low and behold the xbox screen came up with the evox logo in the top left hand corner.
    Phew so at least the chip works but it then goes and gives error code 16.
    Will using aid help from here i hope so as im still downloading it.

    error 16 is about right, with no HDD installed, or no dashboard on the HDD that you installed. SO after getting AID, burn the ISO and put it in the dvd and away you go. You'll be up and running in no time.
