I'm interested in picking up a game cube to mod, but have a few questions before I do. Where can I find out what consoles can be emulated on the Game cube?

I have read that people are messing with the laser in the Game cube, does this make the game cube break more frequently?

Is there a way to get the game cube to recognize different controllers, maybe a game pad from a computer?

    Thanks

i think theres only like 3 chips for the gamecube and all the emulators that u can use on it have to be threw cds or a memory card its not realy worth modding . just google gamecube modding and youll find any thing u need to know .
you should look into xbox modding you can add a hdd to it and play your games straight off of it

I was tossing up that idea too. For some reason I thought gamecubes were still available new, so I figured I would rather use one of those. Now I just realized that you can't find those new either. I must have been on crack that day.

    I have a xbox I can use.

keep in mind that sega is a totally different system made by sega not nintendo. i;m not saying its not possible or it can be done but i think that even if you got it up it would be slower than john taylor... i would be like trying to mod a n64 to play ps1 games. they really weren't made for each other

There have been a some Dreamcast scene releases that combined the Bleemcast emulator with the Playstation ISO built into one self-booting Dreamcast disc. If that helps you.. actually i recently heard some hackers got busted using a dreamcast system. i didn't hear how or what they did???

Only three games were actually released Metal Gear Solid, Tekken 3, and Gran Turismo 2. You need the Bleem emulator...but i just found on another forum that there was a n64 emulator for the dreamcast....not sure where but check it out
