Ok so youre thinking, "modding simple, hah!" or "yup". well either way it really is. This is the tutorial on how to softmod without using a disc! Needed: A Brain Torxx Screwdrivers Phillips head screwdriver i would think(to open pc) An idea on hot swapping(visit http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/332766) A small knowledge about what im going to say! Xplorer360 SmartFTP Ok, so a lot of people are hardmodding lately due to the fact that they dont have the right game or dont know how to get the save they need via irc!(for all you ar people, the save is there, just look for it). Well here i will give you a tutorial on how to softmod WITHOUT a disc OR a save. If you dont care about music i will already have your save files i can give you, for a clean(no music)xbox i suggest you request it and i will have to take apart my xbox again.....not the point. anyways the pack includes: UnleashX, Emulators - GBA, NES, SNES, PSX, games for emulators(including all pokemon[lol] and super mario world + more]), a complete working ms dash backup, and some free music!(unless otherwise emailed about). For the files email me at joesomebody1615@yahoo.com Tutorial: First, take apart your xbox!(please unplug it too), take one cover off your pc.(make sure its off too, so i would guess to print this). There should be TWO ides coming from your pc(if not 3 for the floppy), those are the really wide thin cables hooking up to your cd/dvd rom and hard drive(s). unplug the secondary primary(the one hooked up to the cd/dvd rom). now boot your pc. press pause/break before it reads the ides! Now boot your xbox. When the white "microsoft" appears under the "Xbox", unplug the ide from the hdd! now attach the xbox hdd to the pc. DO NOT TURN OFF XBOX!!! IF YOU DO ITS YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT! now press any key on pc to finish booting up. Open Xplorer360, go to drive\harddrive or memcard...! now you will see partition 0-4. 1-2, not sure what they are, but make sure they are EMPTY! 3 and 4 are c and e! so delete everything from 3 and 4!(basically make everything empty!). now insert all files and folders from the "C" folder i sent you into partition 3! now put everything in folder "E" to partition 4! vuala! a softmodded xbox! if you screw this up any, then its your fault. OK! hopefully you backed up your stuff you had on there! if not your fault for not thinking. but if you didnt, your stuff should be in your recycle bin! now go ahead and exit xplorer360. then unplug your ide from your xbox hdd and plug it back into your xbox. turn off xbox. now....turn on and vuala. you have successfully softmodded! any questions or comments please dont reply to this post simply email me, thanks!
that is a good tutorial on softmodding by hot swapping, but I find it easier just to use the linux save and action replay. Good tut though
as i said, this is without using the save. this thread was meant for the people(like me) who dont have access to the games/saves!
