Hello, I've recently bought a new computer, about three weeks ago or something like that.

    Here's the specs:
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1
    System Manufacturer: Acer
    System Model: Aspire M5640
Processor: Intel Core Duo 2.40 GHz
    Memory (RAM): 3 GB
    System-type: 32-bit operating system
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GS
    Storage: 500 GB
    Monitor: Acer x193w[/b]

The problem is, is that my monitor will randomly go black. The monitor will stay on, as the little blue light stays on, but the only way I can get the picture back is by shutting the monitor off and turning it back on. More often than the monitor going completely black, the screen will randomly blink and as if it's getting slightly darker/tinting. I've tried everything, from moving the monitor to see if a cord was loose. I've tried pushing all the cords fully in and they are fully in. I've tried pulling the cords out and then pushing them back in. I've even tried the monitor on another computer.

I tried the monitor on my older computer, which has Windows XP. I plugged the monitor to my old computer and turned the monitor on and it showed the screen and everything was fine, until I seen it blink/tint and then eventually it went completely black. I did this, because I wanted to make sure it wasn't my new computer's power supply, graphics card, etc. The problem is indeed the monitor..

The monitor is usable for now until I return it back and get a different one for the same price or at least get my money back.

So, I brought the monitor back into my bedroom where my new computer is situated, plugged it in, attached the monitor cords to the computer, and everything. I turn on my computer and get "Input Not Supported". I'm guessing the resolution from Vista to XP may have screwed with the monitors settings.. I've tried pressing the buttons on the bottom of the monitor and nothing happens.. I was told on other forums to go on Safe Mode, the only problem is, is that I cannot see Safe Mode, instead it shows the same "Input Not Supported".

I'm just lost at what I should do next. I cannot access the monitor's settings at all. What should I do next? (yes I'm going to be getting a new monitor VERY soon).

    Thanks :)

Yeah I do plan on getting a new one. Probably Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday and I'm working 10am - 6pm tomorrow.

    Thanks :)
