why is it that we only been to moon once since 1969 our technology's have greater increased . whats the deal im serious why haven't we been back to the moon since the first time?
It was a political thing when we went to the moon ... John Kennedy vs. Kruschev and the soviet union; both stating that they'd be on the moon first. Space is not a political playing card anymore and we're seeing monies from the private sector more and more. Space exploration is a cool thing ... space exploration by the military may not be though which makes it something of a catch 22.
there's already been a thread on this. and overall, i believe it was either 6 or 12 trips we've made to the moon.
Well, going to the moon, with a manned shuttle, costs billions of dollars/pounds etc. Why go back anyway? Been there; done that; got the t-shirt. Mars is next on the list ;-) Lol.
LOL! You should have done some reading before posting. You would have found out that we have been there many times, since, although the last time was in the 70's I think.
Now my curiosity is in overdrive. Obviously I knew we'd been a number of times having been glued to the TV like everyone else in those years but I didn't think it went into the seventies.
aye, that it did. there's no scientific knowledge left to gain from going to the moon, so the government will not sponsor a scientific expedition there. the only reason left to go to the moon would be for tourism in the private sector. the technology for that is still years off, though.
6 times with apollo 17 being last & apollo 13 having onboard explosion so just barely made it home without landing on the moon. last flight was about 1972.
