Apologies for posting this twice (I posted it in the walkthrough thread, but it is tucked away at the bottom). I thought I might be able to get a quick answer if I started another topic. I have copied my question here.... Hi all, the newest of newbies here. My 2 granddaughters both have a ds lite and they are off on their holidays this Friday, so I thought I would treat them to an R4 each and a friend of mine has loaded 2 x 2gb microsd cards with games ready for them so the walkthrough will be a big help to me. The question I would like answered would be, as the girls will not use their ds's for music or video, do I need to install the moonshell folder. I would grateful for any replies on the subject. Thanks in advance
moonshell is for music, mp3, text file etc. etc.. moonshell is NOT needed for JUST playing games, so can be deleted.
MaryD7s response is correct, but since the moonshell folder takes up less than 10MB of space on the disk, you'd hardly be saving much room. Plus, you never know when you'll use it. I edited the Icons and put my son's favorite pictures in their place. I used the theme function to display a different topscreen photo each month. It makes the DS a handy portable "photo album" to share (i.e. show) pictures with their friends.
Thanks for the replies. I know diddly squat about games consoles so any help is appreciated. I don't think my granddaughters will want to put music on their ds's as they have MP3 players (kids have everything these days don't they) and I cant really see them wanting photos on there either; so it's good to know I won't be doing any harm leaving moonshell off. Thanks again both of you.
