has any one tried the new Moser Baer Gold CDs
that use pthalocynine and golden layer?

because of gold it seems good, but as MBi is not that revered,

MBI calls the discs "gold," but there is no gold in them. They use phthalocyanine dye and improved reflective layers and lacquers for longer life. MBI is a very good manufacturer of CD-R media, and their DVDs are steadily improving.
