I've gotten MPTs v 3.23 to work except transfering MP3s to my phone. I try to transfer a segment from a song and get an error message about the codec not being right. Can save a selection either. How do I know what codecs I need and where do I get them? My MP3s are are at least 2 years old or more.

Are you sure it said codec not format? You can't put .mp3 files on the phone you must change the file to .mid to make it work.

Actually I use mainly mp3s onmy phone and a few midi, so I do know that mp3s work. They work at many different bitrates too, but I have read that some phones have problems with certain bitrates, so that may be your problem.

Thanks. I finally got it to work but had to use a trimming program to make it much shorter. Don't know what the longest length you can use but I cut it down to under a min and it's ok as a ringtone. Only really needed about 15 sec.

I should have clarified that depending on the phone (my old v400 uses mp3 not midi) midi or mp3 needs to be renamed to whichever your phone takes...my v710 needs midi.
