Hi, My dad juat found a Motorola RAZR V3C (VERIZON PHONE) the other day. He gave it to me and I have a few questions. First of all I've heard that Verizon phones do not have SIM card slots and was wondering if this did or not and if this is true. If it is not true and it does have a SIM card can you please send me a link to where it shows where the SIM card is and how to remove it. Also I wanted to know, is it possible for the phone to be blacklisted if the owner reported it lost or filed a police report? I would like to know since, I might want to sell it or use it. Also if I want to use it is there any plans that I can choose which are around 10-20 or so dollars, since I don't talk much, that would work with the phone? Thanks for the help.
Verizon, like Sprint operate under CDMA networks that don't used Sims cards unlike T-Mobile, Cingular, etc. that operate under GSM networks that do use them. The only way I believe they can track down a CDMA phone like the vzw RAZR, which I've had, is through the ECN # ( Serial # ), which I don't see anyone taking the time to do.
Hey, thanks for the reply. Well if the only way they could track it is with the serials number then if I scratched out of whited out or something the ECN # ( Serial # ), would they still activate teh phone without that number? Thanks.
I'm not sure what your trying to do. The ECN # is available in many ways, for example via the "Secret" menu, and on only LG phones only, by pressing #4357*4357, It can be found under Tools and Settings / System Settings / #3 Device info. It can't be hidden, plus they would need it to activate it. Just say you bought it on ebay or something and 99.9 % of the time they won't think twice about it.
