Hi, I know you have heard this numerous times, but I really need help, this site has been so helpful in the past please help me out this time, I have a movie that is to big to copy, I have read about how to do it, but really dont understand, I downloaded virtualdub, but am unable to find my video files, if I could get step by step instructions on how and what else I need to be able to do this, it would be appreciated. Please help an oldie out. Thanks
hope this help http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/361513 if its to large why dont you shrink it? dvd shrink maybe?
Thanks for that, I have been burning for a while now, and can find my way around shrink and nero, with the help of anydvd, but this has stumped me, when i open virtualdub and go to open files, there aren't any showing in my VT-Video folder, I have download the ffdshow and have no idea what to do to convert my vob files to avi, I really appreciate any help you can offer, thanks.
Hi, what I mean by too big, is the main movie won't fit on to my normal dvd. The movie is 600mg. Hope this helps. Sals
Hi what I mean too is that I wish to split the movie onto two dvds, I have virtual dvd but am unable to make my files (vob) into avi
i am a little lost as what you are trying to do here, why are you using virtualdub? are you trying to back up a dvd disk, or a download file? also what is the movie, also no movie is to big to backup? and you say the movie is 600 mg, that size will fit on a cd! and why are you wanting to convert vob's to avi?
ok, let me start again, the movies are: perfect stranger and reign over me, i reauthored one movie and back uped the main movie only, when I went to nero to burn it, it said that it is too big to fit on my blank dvd. I tried the other movie and got the same thing. I looked on afterdawn to see it anyone had wrote anything about it, and read that if the files are to large to can split the movie and put it on two dvd's, hence where I am stuck. Hope this helps you help me. Thanks sals
you can split them. i have never done it. there should be able to get them on to a single layer dvd no problem thou using shrink or recode. to make them smaller. but if they are only 600mb. a dvd5 hold 4.3g do you see ? what version of nero do you have? you need vob to burn dvd... not avi
If you want to use NERO, than use Nero Recode, it will compress your file to fit to DVD5(4.7GB) Also Shrink will compress the file if you use Reauthor option.
Hi all, Problem solved I managed to do both movies, a big thank you to all who helped out, and a big thanks to who offered NeroRecode. That was all I used and it shrunk them down to fit on a normal dvd. Thank you
