what happens when you try to play it? Is your Xbox modded? If so do you have a DVD player aplication isntalled on the Xbox to play the DVD?

No mod is needed to watch burned discs. You need the remote, that's all.

I have the remote but never use it lol. I use the game controler. Bur my Xbox is modded. In my opinion it was a waist of money buying the remote. Anyway I hardly ever play DVD's on it anyway. I used to play AVI on it off the drive using XBMC but I dont even do that anymore I just network to the computer and run them that way.

If its a DVD I will use a cheap DVD player no use putting extra ware and tare on my unit.

look on the internet for a program that allows you to change the book type setting to dvd rom also theres a site(havent been there in a while that list which type and bbrand of discs will play in which player(includind xbox and ps2s)If you have a liteon burner go to lite on site and get there booktype prg

But thats all you(should)need to do is change to dvd-rom

In my experience, you plug in the receiver "dongle" and insert DVD. After loading, use as a normal DVD player using the remote to navigate. YMMV due to what drive you have though. My boxes have Thompson drives and I've tried many media formats, and they worked just fine.

You'll need to have a properly formatted DVD to get it to play.
