sometimes i download divx,avi ect.perfect picture and sound on windows media player,but when i convert them and burn them to play on my dvd player they stick and jump,sometimes not until the end of the movie,is there something i can do to stop this..thanks
can it be the media you used? some dvd/xvid players are sensitive to some brands and dyes. try burning on another brand or media dye and see if it resolves the problem.
sorry i did'nt understand that,did you mean burn to another kind of disc or download movie from a diferent torrent or get another converter.im new to this but thanks anyway
media = the type of disc. in more detail, the purple tint is the dye, and this dye is made from gos knows which company. there are companies that make good dyes, while some make crap ones, even with different brands of discs, they can still carry the same dye. I forgot the programs name, but there is one that helps you identify the type of dye you are using.
daz1973, Yes, media could be a factor, but it could be other issues as well. Need to know the following, then I or someone else might be able tofix your problem. Just a few for starters. What program are you using for conversion? What media are you burning on? What speed are you burning at?
im using dvd santa to convert burning with nero and using 8xdvd-discs burning on the normal setting on nero.should i be burning at lower speeds maybe.im also toying with buying a kiss dp 1504 5 dvd player would that create better results.im new at this and dont understand much about codics iether
if your computer is capable of burning fast, go ahead and do it. the reason why i'm saying is simply because some pcs just can't do 8x but people go ahead with it. the result is the drive always kicking into the buffering state and that can cause burns to become unusable or messy.
daz1973, DVDSanta I didnt use in a very long while but if I remember it was doing a pretty good job converting to DVD. An easy way of checking it is by opening the folder you wrote your movie too and playing it from there. If no skipping and jumping then you have a good conversion. It looks like it came down to the media. Some standalones are more picky then others, to find a good solution you have no choice but trial and error. With that said Taiyo Yudens and Verbatims are the media of my choice. Also, do not burn at full speed, that might be another cause of your problems. Good rule of thumb is burning at about 1/2 of your medias rated speed.
