the page stays blank... but i know i got an internet connection because i can still go on the web with internet explorer
A little info would help. Does it happen when u just click on firefox icon or when u try to load a page?
as soon as i click the icon for mozilla the window pops up but nothing loads...no homepage no nothing and when i try to go to another site thinking that there is probably something wrong wit the homepage same thing, just a blank page. no error sign no nothing.

If you are not able to connect with firefox but you can with IE then most likely your firewall has denied access firex to connect to the net. Check your firewall settings.
