Is there a 72 file limit when burning MP3 files to a CD? I can burn more, but on playback in my car's CD player, only the first 72 files will play. Is that a built in limit? I searched the message archives, but could find no info about this. Thank you.
Definitely can put more than 72 MP3 files to a disk. I usually put my files in directories and compile the 5 or 6 directories with the tracks in them. That is, I don't have a flat structure with all files in the one folder. I just fill up the 700Mb of disc. Could this be a limit with the car player? Have you tried your disc in another MP3 disc player, even a DVD player that supports MP3 from CD?
I do not think it is the CD player's limit. I am new at this. I now see that the car CD player lets you navigate through folders. I had not used folders because I thought non computer attached CD players might not recognize them, but it seems they can. So that is what I will do. Maybe there is a limit of 72 files per folder. Thanks for the help.
