Are the steps to sending ringtones straight forward or do I need to know anything before hand?

If your computer and your mobile phone are not paired make sure that your mobile is discoverable.

Open "Bluetooth File Exchange" (Applications/Utilities), select the file you want to send, select your phone from the list of bluetooth devices (do a search if it is not there) and click on send.

is it easier to use isync?

iSync synchronizes the Address Book and iCal events in your Mac with your mobile.

If you want to send a file via bluetooth you need to use "Bluetooth File Exchange".

You can use bluetooth or a data cable.

so i just hook the cable up to my fone and to my imac. then i use isync to transfer songs?

iSync does not transfer files. It is only for synchronising the Address Book and iCal data in your Mac with your mobile or PDA.

Use the cable to connect the computer and mobile. The mobile will mount in your desktop as a volume. Double click on it and you will see all the folders in your mobile. Drag and drop whatever you want to transfer to the appropriate folder. Un-mount (eject) the volume before disconnecting the cable.
