I have a rather large MP3 collection that I would like to change the bitrate on. Most of my music ir riped at 320 or so. This makes for a collection that take up a lot of space. Is there a program I can use that will change the bitrate and file names for me?
If the MP3's are ripped from cd's from your collection then it might be worth re-ripping them to MP3 using a program called Exact Audio Copy (EAC for short). These are the best types of MP3's you can make which sound idential to the original cd as well as taking up as little space as possible. Here is the guide = http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm If you don't fancy re-ripping your collection or if they are downloaded MP3's then you can change the bit rates by using a program called dBpowerAMP. Here is the official site where you can download the program = http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ (please bear in mind that converting from one lossy format to another will result in quality being lost so it's up to you if you want to do this or not) I don't think dBpowerAMP can rename files. The best program for this is called Tag & Rename. Here is the official site where you can download the program = http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm
