i have a few mp3 files that wont play in wmp 10 and winamp, i get an error that says the file you are attempting to has as extension that does not match the file format.the files themselves are there xxbytes etc they just wont play.there extension says they are mp3's
are you sure you are actually seeing the extension? Windows Explorer usually hides them by default. in explorer, go Tools>Folder Options. Click on the View tab. Then make sure the "Hide extensions for known types" is unchecked. Click OK, then refresh the window. Now the real extension should be there, and you can delete it and rename it .mp3
