which software or program (preferably free) is available to help burn mp3 music. I have the mp3 in "my music" but there is no burnable tracks because its licensed material; and the tracks have not been purchased. is there some way around this ??? thank, also, i dont have a portable device but want to burn it on cd to play on a dvd/mp3 player.

    hi teresa,

well first off, if the music you have on your computer is indeed in mp3 format, then there is no copy protection (if thats what you meant by unpurchased licenced material) so you can easily burn them to CDs or transfer them to audio discs. that is one reason why mp3 is still around...its one of the oldest compressed audio formats for computers, and isn't the best quality even when encoded with the best software, but there is no DRM crap in it, so you can copy, burn, transfer, share, and do whatever it is your heart desires with them...thats why they still have a huge advantage over those god awful formats like wma and aac (apple's itunes music).

Any burning application like nero or roxio can create audio CDs from mp3 and other audio files, but if you do not have a burning program then I suggest using a program called Burrrn. It is a program just for burning audio CDs from various formats, and is freeware. here's a link to download:

i am using yahoo music jukebox and created a playlist, when i attempt to burn, there is a message that reads "the playlist does not contain any burnable tracks". "It is only a bookmarked track and cannot be burned". How can I make my "bookmarked tracks" burnable without buying the tracks. currently i do have a subscription so to be able to listen to the music and create playlists. I tryed transferring the music from playlist to my music and I still cannot burn it. Even as a windows media file, i try to burn it and i cant.
when trying to use musicmatch burner, i get "no burn rights". what am i doing wrong?? is there another site where i can get burn rights without problems??? or a software that will take care of this problem for me??.
    thanks.

don't use yahoo or windows media to burn your discs. access them directly from your hard drive. open up my computer, and find the music files on your C drive. see what type of file they are. if you are getting messages saying "no burn rights" and are purchasing music from yahoo, then my guess is that they are not in mp3 format and contain DRM (copy protection). so check and see what type of file they are, then we'll go from there...

still need help. I have tryed musicstacker and this is what I have found out:

Using yahoo music jukebox and unlimited. i have had difficulty saving music in "my music". It saves to playlist and then i move playlist to "my music". but when I go to "windows explorer to try to find the music on my harddrive, i cant find the music. do you have any suggestions.

Just trying so many things, I was able to get music off the hard drive (from yahoo music jukebox), i did bring it in musicstacker as protected and it reads as wma (protected). The selected sound sources come up as microsoft sound mapper or sb audigy 2 zs audio (c8c0). I have tryed different select sound lines with the output format also as wma because i want to put it on an audio cd. Musicstacker will not allow me to do it. It only allows me to output mp3 or raw. If i want to put music on a cd, then output format should be wma. i need to go from protected to unprotected even though the imput is wma, output needs to be wma as well i understand. An error of : "your selected recording setting is not supported by your sound card". what can i do. please help. thanks
