    Hi,
I have an MP4 movie that's 999 MB. I'd like to convert it to a 700 MB XviD (or DivX). Is that possible?
If it's easier to just re-encode the MP4 to a 700 MB MP4 that would be ok too.
    any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

XviD is just a video codec. The mp4 could already contain XviD video. All you really need to do is re-encode with a lower average video bitrate. Easiest way is probably AVIDemux. Supports mp4 input and can output XviD in an avi or mp4 container.

    Hi,
Thanks so much for the reply.
I downloaded avidemux, but seeing as I'm a bit of a newb I had no idea what settings to set. I was wondering if you know of a tutorial I could use or perhaps you can give me the basics to set it up.
    thanks again :)
