Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help? I have a WINTV 200- DTV card which records TV broadcasts in MPEG2 format (allegedly). WINTV plays these files back fine, however, other programmes have problems with them: Windows Media payer jumps and jerks throughout playback, with the sound usually some 10 - 20 seconds ahead of video. NERO showtime is much the same. Ulead Video Studio 9 locks up completely when attempting to open these files, and Adobe Premier Pro 1.5 zaps through the files as if they are on fast forward. NERO Vision Express 3 inserts blank pauses at regular intervals into each video file and tells me that a 45 minute clip will not fit onto a DVD as it is "101 hours long" !! Oddly, NERO Vision Express version 2 plays the files with no problems at all. Does anyone here have any idea what could be going wrong? I have checked the options in WINTV2000, and the only option under video quality is "DVD 2048 bytes". Grateful for any thoughts anyone may have.
Try running the Captured Files through "PVAStrumento".... PVAStrumento is a tool to convert files recorded with a DVB PC-card in PVA-format to regular MPEG2 program streams. It can also be used to "repair" existing MPEG2 PS for further processing. The Files you are Captureing are actually Mpeg-2 Transport Streams and PVAStrumento will Fix there Time Code so they Play Back Properly and will Convert the Transport Streams to Mpeg-2 Program Streams which are Proper Mpeg-2 files.... You can Find PVAStrumento in the Software section of this site or if you do a simple Google search..... Cheers
Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded PVAStrumento, but no luck - it doesn't like the files anymore than the other programms. Any attempt to open thenm causes PVAStrumento to close. Oh well, at least NERO Video Express 2 likes them - looks like I'll have to stick with that. Thanks once again for your help.
