I am trying to compress an MPEG down to a size that will fit on a 800 mb CD-R and have been unsuccessfull in finding any software that can accomplish this task. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. I can't imagine their not being any such software out there. Is there any?
What determines the Output size of a Mpeg file is the Length of the Source File and the Bitrate used to encode it so if you set the Bitrate Low enough you will get the Size you want to achieve useing any encoder... But if you are Trying to Do something like Compress a 100 or 120 minute movie down to 800mb then you are going to be out of Luck because the Bitrate would have to be so low that the Image quality would be so bad that it wouldn"t be watchable..... Generally the Max you will Fit on a Single CD-R is 80 or 90 minutes with any sort of Quality....You might be able to get it Smaller if you use Tmpgenc and the KVCD templates..... Cheers
