I am trying to download a clip from a DVD to put on You Tube, but it needs to be less than 100MB. I converted the clip to a VOB and then to a MPEG but it is 267MB long. Is there a program that will make it within the 100MB parameters? Is there another file I should convert to in order to upload on You Tube? Thanks for youre help.
Best bet would be to re-encode to youtube specs which I believe are 320x240 with 22Khz mono audio. The video will get re-encoded no matter what but there is no point letting their converter do the downsizing/re sampling. For the video, I would probably go with Xvid or x264 and for the audio, mp3 should be ok.
I had a problem of reducing mpeg sizes... no luck anywhere. came up with the idea of trying the built in Windows Movie maker.....yipee ...did the trick simply import a video (remember to untick the make clips tag) drag the video to the project space at the bottom then got to 3. finish movie save to computer have a fiddle with the Movie setting page
nb. i have now found that the clip created by Windows Movie Maker as sound problems. the sound slightly goes out of sync 1 1/2 hours in..any ideas?
