I have recorded a doco that is 6.2gb in MPEG format from my winfast DTV1000 TV card.
I want to dump it out to DVD.
I've tried using divx to recode as AVI ( 1.9GB) but the sound is a second or more out of sync.

[bold]What software do you recommend I use to shrink the file to under 4.7gb?[/bold]

[DVD Shrink doesn't recognise mpg files.]
Alternatively what software would allow me to remove adds etc from the original and hopefully reduce the file to <4.7gb?
    cheers from Down Under

The best way to do this is to use any DVD authoring software to produce DVD Disc files (VIDEO_TS) on your hard disk using the large MPG file. Ignore any notices that the project exceeds DVD file size limits. Then you can use DVD shrink to load the VIDEO_TS files in. You can then produce an ISO image or burn directly to DVD. I have found DVD Shrink does an excellent job in reducing file size.
